History
Dalosy was founded in 1976. Around that time, there was an increasing demand on the American retail market for new solutions to optimise the business processes. The first mobile computers date back to this era. Dalosy was the first company in the Netherlands to market these mobile computers and the accompanying modems. Just like in the US, these systems were initially used in retail. Soon however, an increasing number of other sectors discovered these mobile solutions.
Barcode scanning
Barcode technology, which was rapidly combined with mobile computers, was introduced around the same time. Dalosy was the first in the Netherlands to supply equipment for reading barcodes. Back then, barcodes were almost solely used for ordering replenishments and stock management. By now, barcode scanners are indispensible and Dalosy supplies a wide variety of hand and truck terminals, barcode scanners and printers. All the solutions are meticulously aligned with the latest innovations, applications and client needs.
Further optimisation
Demand for software developed quite soon after the introduction of the first hardware for scanning and printing barcodes. Initially aimed at optimising ordering on the shop floor it was later repurposed for example, for the automation of warehouse processes. Software continued to develop gradually. Over the years, both standard and client-specific solutions have been developed for various markets including Retail (among other things, shop floor automation), Transport & Logistics (Warehouse Management Systems, Proof of Delivery) and Energy (meter reading systems).
Tools and technologies
Nowadays, Dalosy uses the latest Microsoft tools such as Visual Studio, SQL Server and Windows Azure to develop mobile applications for Windows Mobile and CE. Recently, Dalosy has also started developing bespoke solutions for Apple’s iOS platform. Dalosy has an experienced, driven team of software engineers. Over the past few years, new technologies such as RFID and voice recognition have been introduced which provide an excellent alternative to barcodes in certain situations.
